Strollers Stories
As much fun as the Oxford Moonlight Stroll is please remember just why we're doing this.
Phil's Story:
An Oxfordshire am dram performer Phil Evans had a special motivation when he took part in the 2009 Oxford Moonlight Stroll. In aid of the Sobell House Hospice Charity.
In June 2007 Phil and his wife Barbara took part in the very first Moonlight Stroll in memory of a couple of friends who spent their last days being cared for and had died at the hospice.
In November of the same year Barbara was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and then became an inpatient at Sobell House. Sadly Barbara passed away before the 2009 Stroll so Phil's event had extra significance.
Phil says: The Hospice means a huge amount to me right now as they were superb in caring for my wife Barbara who was very ill with ovarian cancer. We never thought that when we did the first ever Moonlight stroll back in 2007 and raised just over £1000 for Sobell House, that we would be using their services and support in the future, they are simply marvellous, so please help raise some funds to secure their future and sponsor a walker now!
